About Us
Royal Central is a leading independent source for the latest news on the British Royal Family. From the latest news on Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge to some of the more intricate parts of Monarchy. Royal Central has been cited on numerous occasions as a flagship authority on all things to do with British Royalty. From our editors’ appearances in the press to interviews on royal matters with other royalist organisations, Royal Central is arguably one of the best sources out there.
With our wide range of writers on site, you’re never far short of a different take on things or an even more intricate look into the wonderful world that is the British Monarchy!
History
Royal Central’s origins were not originally in royal news, in fact, we began life tweeting facts about the British Royal Family under the Twitter handle of @RoyalFactsUK on 8th June 2012. Shortly after that, on 25th July, we decided to take it all one step further and open a website dedicated to the British Royal Family and on 30th July, we launched Royal Central BETA!
From there, we began developing Royal Central, initially providing regular blog posts on things to do with the Royal Family before moving on, in October to a WordPress format where we began posting royal news.
In November 2012, Royal Central underwent a major overhaul of its systems, including a new, much more reliable and faster host (whom we’re still with today, thanks very much TSO Host) and a completely new design for our site.
On 11th February, Royal Central announced our move to a new style of reporting. From 1st March 2013, we have been focusing much more on news and have separated factual articles from news reports in two different, yet equally important sections.
Today, Royal Central has an average of over 15,000 unique visitors per week and is constantly growing.
Structure
Royal Central operates on a two-tier system. Royal Central has Reporters and Bloggers on the main tier. Reporters publish articles on the latest royal news and Bloggers publish timeless articles on all manner of interesting things to do with the British Monarchy. Neither are currently paid positions. On the top tier are Editors, who are responsible for maintaining Royal Central’s high standards and amending parts of the site where necessary as well as writing their own articles.
Advertisements
Although, in order to raise costs to run Royal Central, we display Google ads across our site, we do not endorse the product or service they’re offering and never do nor never will involve ourselves in any other sort of advertisement as we believe such a thing as, for example, product placement in posts would ruin the integrity of Royal Central as a source for accurate and to-the-point news.
Bias
Like all sites on the internet, Royal Central does have a bias. Bias doesn’t always have to be a bad thing and in this case it certainly isn’t. Royal Central is a Monarchist organisation and all posts will reflect this. We do not contract Anti-Monarchists or Republicans to write for us in any instance as we believe the Monarchy is something to celebrate not demean and lower. Our motto is and always will be “Long Live The Queen”!
Discussion
We love to encourage discussion on Royal Central and have open, anonymous and guest comment systems available on all qualifying posts for our readers to engage with the writer – it makes things just that little bit more interesting.
Accuracy
Royal Central prides itself on accuracy and will make every effort to ensure its reliability. In the event that mistakes are present on site, we like our readers to help out and flag this up to us, either in the comments box or to us via Twitter. All comments will be read, checked and posts amended if required. Our thanks extend to everyone who has proposed a correct amendment as this helps preserve Royal Central’s integrity.
Contact
We also pride ourself on the contact we have with our readers. If you have a question about royalty, a suggestion for our site or any other point to do with Royalty or Royal Central you can email the editor in chief of Royal Central at editor@royalcentral.co.uk – all emails will be read and if necessary, replied to.
