Duchess of Cambridge voted most inspiring fashion icon to mothers

The Duchess of Cambridge may have only been a mother for just over two weeks, but she has already been named the most inspiring fashion icon to mothers, beating other famous mums such as Kim Kardashian and Amanda Holden.

A poll, conducted by the fashion discount website FashionPerks.co.uk, found that many were fans of Kate’s post-pregnancy style and felt inspired by her choices.

“It’s a testament to how dearly the British public hold the Duchess of Cambridge to their hearts,” said the website’s spokesman Max Bramwell.

“She’s only been a mother for a matter of weeks, and had barely been seen in public since the birth, yet people are still drawing on her example for inspiration.”

The Duchess has been universally praised for her sense of style since her engagement to Prince William, and most dresses worn by Kate become instant sell-outs leading to many to dub it the “Kate Effect.”

‘To be honest, she was stylishly dressed before her pregnancy, looked fantastic in maternity wear despite her well-publicised problems with illness, and now the British public expect her to be very much the fashion icon for the coming years,” FashionPerks.co.uk’s spokesman added.

Kate won the praise of the fashion world when she stepped out in a blue polka-dot bespoke Jenny Packham dress just a day after giving birth to Prince George.

The Duchess gave a subtle salute to Prince William’s late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, who wore a similar polka-dot dress when she left the Lindo Wing with a baby William in 1982.
