Grandfather Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry will also be attending the service, which Prince William and Kate wanted to keep “small” and “intimate”.

Joining the Royals will be the Duchess’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton, who will arrive with Kate’s siblings James and Pippa Middleton.

Along with close family, Prince George’s seven godparents will attend the ceremony, which will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury, with their spouses.

This includes William’s cousin Zara Phillips, family friend William van Cutsem and the Cambridge’s private secretary Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton.

Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Hugh Grosvenor and Julia Samuel will also attend as George’s godparents.

Prince Harry, Pippa and James Middleton will not be joined by their partners at the service.

There will be in total 22 guests at this afternoon’s christening and it is believed William and Kate wanted to keep the service a “small intimate affair” with immediate family and godparents attending.

After the ceremony, guests will attend a private tea at Clarence House, held by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.

They will serve slices of George’s christening cake, which is a tier taken from Prince William’s and Kate’s wedding cake.
