The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this afternoon started off the Ring O Fire marathon on the island of Anglesey today. The Duchess wasn’t originally expected to make an appearance but thanks to an impromptu change of mind, she attended alongside her husband, Prince William.
During the engagement, Kate was asked by a local how George was doing, to which she replied, “he’s very well, he’s sleeping at the moment”.
The Cambridges’ newly born son, Prince George, is 5 weeks and 4 days old today. The new 3rd-in-line is yet to complete his first official engagement, though there’s talk that he could join the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on a tour in Australia next year.
The Duke was also handed a pack of nappies during the rounds talking to organisers and observers, responding, “We’ve got a lot of these. We can always do with some more”.
This appears to be the Cambridges last engagement on Anglesey as residents there as the Duke of Cambridge’s RAF contract expires in the middle of next month whereupon he is expected to move back to London where his newly refurbished apartments at Kensington Palace should be almost completed for his wife and new son.
Prince William is expected to return to the Blues & Royals, possibly taking up an administrative role at the Household Cavalry’s barracks.
