The pregnant Duchess is said to be purchasing furniture for the 21 room apartment at Kensington Palace which she and husband Prince William are expected to be moving in to later this year, after the extensive refurbishment of the apartment is complete. This shopping trip is one of many which Kate has undertaken during her pregnancy.
She was seen browsing for a buggy and a car seat at Peter Jones in Sloane Square in March and then was spotted purchasing a Moses basket with her mother, Carole Middleton, at Blue Almonds Furniture in Kensington in April.
Catherine revealed in April that she and Prince William have “a lot to do” with regard to the royal baby’s nursery and all of this retail therapy is probably due to the nesting instinct that expectant mothers experience shortly before the birth of their babies. It has been widely speculated that the Duchess will break with tradition and spend the first six weeks after the birth of her baby at the new home of her parents in Bucklebury, Buckinghamshire.
