The Saturdays’ member has spoke of her meeting with the Prince of Wales, when they joined the heir to the throne to open a new Marie Curie hospice in Solihull, in the West Midlands.
“Charles was really nice, we expected him to be much more formal but he was actually really relaxed,” Una revealed in her blog for HELLO! online. “He seemed very down-to-earth and had a great sense of humour. He was laughing and joking with us and we all had a good chat.”
The Prince spent time talking to the girls, and perhaps conversation soon turned to the royal baby, which is due soon.
Una joked she was unable to get a perfect photo with the Prince. “Unfortunately I was a bit taken aback when we met him and the only photo I’ve got of me shaking his hand is taken from a really bad angle and is not good at all.,” the singer revealed. “I can’t believe I shook hands with a Prince but won’t be framing the moment!”
The girls clearly enjoyed their time with the Prince, and soon took to Twitter to express their excitement.
“Today I met prince Charles….Just another day at the office…” Rochelle Humes tweeted.
Joining her was Una, who tweeted “Amazing moment at the official opening of the @mariecurieuk hospice centre in Solihull with HRH Prince Charles.”
The new hospice will provide expert care for people who have terminal illnesses, and the centre aims to care for more than 2,000 patients every year.
