The nation of Sweden is excitedly preparing for the second royal wedding in three years.
This afternoon, Princess Madeleine of Sweden will marry her fiance Christopher O’Neill in a lavish ceremony in Stockholm.
Madeleine is the youngest child of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, and is currently fourth-in-line for the Swedish throne.
The last royal wedding to take place in Sweden was in 2010, and was the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria who married her personal trainer, Daniel Westling, who became Prince Daniel and will be her consort when she inherits the throne.
Excitement has been building in recent weeks ahead of the wedding, and this morning thousands of well-wishers have taken to the streets in preparation of this afternoon’s wedding.
Last night, the Swedish Royal family welcomed guests from around the world, as King Carl Gustaf hosted a pre-wedding dinner at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm where guests will stay.
Royals from around the world will attend the wedding. Prince Edward and wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex will represent The Queen at the 4pm ceremony. They will be joined by Denmark’s Crown Prince Frederick and Crown Princess Mary, who will attend with his brother Prince Joachim of Denmark and his wife Princess Marie.
The bride has already been confirmed to wear Valentino this afternoon and fashion on lookers will be eagerly awaiting the arrival of the beautiful bride.
