The Queen car sold

A car once owned by the Queen has been sold for £45,000.

Her Majesty returned the car to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust in 2004, after using for car for official visits.

Speaking ahead of the auction, Brooklands’ chief executive Stewart Banks revealed his excitement for selling a car once owned by a member of the Royal Family.

“We are not unaccustomed to selling cars for and on behalf of esteemed owners,” the auctioneer told the Surrey Advertiser.

“To drive a car that was the Queen’s personal Daimler is a unique experience and one that is unlikely to be repeated,” he added.

While owned by Her Majesty, the car underwent some personal customisations including a special holder for her handbags.

The Queen is currently on her annual summer holiday with the Duke of Edinburgh at Balmoral in Scotland.

In late July, the 87-year-old met her first great-grandson Prince George, after visiting new parents Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge at Kensington Palace, just a day after the couple arrived home from hospital.
