Sophie, Countess of Wessex sure knows how to keep busy! After recently returning from a solo tour of India and Qatar, Sophie is on the road once again and this time she is stopping in South Africa. She is touring the country in support of her husband, Prince Edward’s, work with the South African President on the “Award for Youth Empowerment Trust.” In doing so, she received the chance to meet some of the participants.
One of her stops while in South Africa was the Jabulile School in Orange Farm. At the school, the mother of Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn stunned in a floral fitted dress as she waved to the onlooking students.
With a picturesque background, the Countess recited a speech on the playground of the school as the students formed a circle to intently listen to the words that the Countess had to share with the audience.
Following her speech, the Countess was treated to some South African tradition as the students performed song and dance. As always, the Countess was enthusiastically watching from the sidelines. She cheered and clapped loudly as the students showcased their culture for the royal.
The students were equally as enthusiastic to see the royal. One student in particular was in such awe that she held her hand over her mouth in excitement as she hugged Her Royal Highness.
In keeping with her busy schedule, the Countess continued her day at the Oprah Winfrey Academy for Girls. At the Academy she spoke to the young ladies, who were all dressed in their green uniforms, and was shown presentations prepared by the students.
