Princess Eugenie of York is settling into her new job in New York as ‘Benefit Auctions Manager’ at Paddle8 auction house after she moved there a few weeks ago to pursue a new step in her career.
On the Paddle8 website the 7th-in-line to the throne is listed as ‘Eugenie York’ (the Princess not legally having a surname, using her father’s designation of York in lieu of one) and is described as ‘joining Paddle8 from London, with a B.A in combined honors, majoring in English Literature and History of Art’.
The 23-year-old princess is now the most senior member of the Royal Family not currently residing in the United Kingdom. Other, less well-known members of the Royal Family living abroad include Lord and Lady Fredrick Windsor and their daughter Maud who currently live in Los Angeles.
Her short biography on the website details that “her [Eugenie’s] passion for art led her to work previously at Christie’s and the Royal Collection.”
The bio also makes a nod to the Princess’s charity work with various causes and patronages she has in the United Kingdom, saying she has also had experience with numerous charities over the years.”
Princess Eugenie arrived in New York a few weeks ago and was aided in settling in by mother Sarah, Duchess of York, sister Princess Beatrice and also father Prince Andrew who made a visit in between engagements on his way back to the UK.
The Duke of York’s official website gives no further information saying, “Princess Eugenie is pursuing a career in the art world and completed a three month cookery course in 2012.”
The Princess will not be returning for Prince George’s christening on Wednesday of next week, though is expected to be returning for the traditional royal Christmas gathering at Sandringham along with The Queen and the rest of the Royal Family.
